Reading. Writing. Painting. Tending the garden. Browsing through books at the library. Walking along the river. Looking for Great Blue Herons and Virginia bluebells.
I’ve worked as a messenger, a maid, a server in a tearoom, a teacher, a writer, an illustrator and an architect. My career began with drawing a 3D view of giant trusses in a historic building that was once the Trump Hotel! I collaborated with designers and planners, illustrating annotated maps and cityscapes, as well as diagrams for museum brochures.
While teaching art in an elementary school, I saw how creating handmade books, popups and make-believe characters captured the imaginations of my students. Now with each new opportunity, I look for ways to explore the outdoors and city neighborhoods through drawing and storytelling.
My illustrations appear on Instagram.
